Note: Attendees must be present at the prize-giving to claim their prizes.

SAFETY IS OUR #1 PRIORITY

 

  • Adhere to national rules
  • Lifejackets must be worn when main motor is running
  • Life jackets for every participant on the boat.

Event Rules

It is one prize per Team/Boat. All fish must be ALIVE to qualify for any of the prizes.

 

You MUST be present at prize giving to receive your prizes otherwise you will forfeit your prize and it will go to the next relevant attendee.

 

The event is a biggest fish competition - boats/crafts are not limited to only two anglers, however there is a R1,250.00 entry fee per additional person.

 

  • There is no pre-fishing allowed in the week prior to the competition.
  • The cut-off for pre-fishing is Sunday, September 14th 2025
  • Only artificial baits are allowed; live bait is prohibited.
  • Each angler is allowed to have only one wet line in the water at a time.
  • The river is a strict idling zone; participants must maintain idle ( no wake) speed no fast idle or plain.
  • Angling times are from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
  • To qualify for weighing or winning a prize, teams must place their tag on the board before it is closed at 4:00 PM.
  • Boats must be careful for other watercraft and recreational boats on the water.
  • Small crafts, kick boats, and kayaks may enter the competition and will only leave after the bigger boats. It is advised to travel next to the shoreline and not in the middle of the dam.
  • The weigh station will be open the entire day. Bass must be brought to the scale using a weigh bag, and fish care must be prioritised. All fish weighed will be released at the station.
  • 3 fish to be weighed during day per team.
  • Prize giving will take place at 5:00 PM, allowing participants to take out their boats first. We arranged security at boats.
  • The casting distance rule applies, and participants must comply with it.
  • The river cannot be closed; people can only pass through at idle speed, no wake.
  • Participants must comply with national rules, including having a valid Certificate of Fitness (CoF) and a skipper's certificate.
  • Booking to be made at 0636618610. Registration will be from 16h30 till 19h00 on Friday 19th September 2025 and from 05h00 till 06h30 on the day at the hall of Klerksdorp dam Holiday resort
  • Tags will also be handed out from 05h00 on the day.
  • Place draws will be held in Klerksdorp dam resort hall from 18h30 on the 19th of September 2025(if you cant attend the draw there will be a whatsapp on this group with the nr you will be set off.
  • Anglers attending will be drawn first.
  • In order to protect the river ecosystem and maintain a positive relationship with local farmers, all participants are required to avoid littering and respect the designated idle zones. Please refrain from throwing any trash into the river and ensure that the embankments remain undisturbed. Let's work together to preserve the environment and prevent any harm to the river and its surrounding areas.
  • Show sportsmanship and respect towards each other: This event aims to bring people together for a common cause and enjoyment. Treat all participants, organizers, and spectators with respect and fairness. Avoid engaging in any behavior that may harm, disrespect, or create an unpleasant atmosphere for others. Embrace the spirit of healthy competition, and remember that the primary goal is to have fun while supporting the fundraising cause.

Any complaints can be put in writing, before the prize giving start at 17:00


The most important rule is to enjoy the fishing.
